Member Meeting 2/18:
Our next general member meeting is
next Wednesday, February 18th at 2pm in CLA 3216! Dr. Kasey
Serdar will be speaking to us about Eating Disorders. Dr. Serdar is the Eating
Disorder Services Coordinator of the Counseling Center's "The Body
Project". The Body Project is a Peer Education Program that is actively
changing the ways in which their discussion group feels about their bodies.
My
Campus Health (www.mycampushealth.com)
Also, below you will find a flyer for
MyCampusHealth.com, which is a website designed by one of our guest speakers
who attended the Cultural Diversity Panel. The website is designed to be an
online platform for students who wish to exchange stories regarding topics of
mental health and wellness. For more information, visit www.mycampushealth.com.
Vice
President Position (Graduate Student Position)
Lastly, we have a Vice President position
available for Graduate Members! The position is for the remainder of the
semester and will help you secure an executive board position for the upcoming
year. An e-board position in NAMI on Campus is a great way to gain more
experience in the field of mental illness as well as building your leadership
and team work skills (i.e. a resume builder!) If you are a graduate student who
is interested in being or is currently a member of NAMI on Campus – please email
towsonunami@gmail.com with your
name, a brief description about yourself/your interests, as well as
qualities/experience that would allow you to help NAMI’s continued growth on
campus.
Hey this meeting was superb. Dr. Kasey Serdar spoke so well regarding Eating Disorder. Actually my uncle Dr. Aloke Ghosh got the invitation to attend the meeting. He took me with him.
