Bystander Intervention Workshop (Member Meeting) 3/26
  •  CLA room 3216 on Wednesday 3/25 at 2pm
  • Bystander Intervention workshop 
  • Speaker from the Counseling Center's Sexual Assault Peer Education team

DSM-LIVE EVENT 4/7
  • NAMI is partnering with the Counseling Center to host their upcoming event DSM-live
  • This will be an "around-the-world" interactive event with different disorders stationed in rooms around the Counseling Center
  • It will take place on Tuesday, April 7 at 6:30 pm. 
  • The committee is in need of volunteers to help with giving tours, setting up/tearing down, tabling at the end of the tour, and manning different rooms. 
    • If you are interested in signing up for any of these tasks, please email Gabrielle Handwerk at ghandw1@students.towson.edu. Membership points will be given to volunteers.    
Spring Ted Talk 4/2

  • Thursday, April 2, 2015 from 12pm - 1:30 in Loch Raven (University Union)
  • Great opportunity to learn more about mental illness while engaging in meaningful discussion about the TED Talk afterwards. Food will be served at the event!

Out of the Darkness Benefit Happy Hour - Friday, September 19th from 7:00p.m
  • Location: El Bufalo Tequila Bar & Kitchen

  • Time: From 7:00p.m
  • Agenda: Purchase $3 domestics, $5 rails, $5 margaritas, and more! Proceeds benefit the Out of Darkness Baltimore Walk.

Project Homeless Connect - Baltimore

  • Location: Baltimore Convention Center
  • Date: 10/2/2014
  • Agenda: The event provides on-site services for the local homeless community, such as medical exams and screenings, haircuts, legal advice, identification, access to healthy food, and more. Participating homeless and at-risk individuals and families are paired with a volunteer guide, who helps participants navigate the various services and share the experience of the event 
  • Volunteers will be paired with homeless participants that are attending the resource fair at the Baltimore Convention Center on October 2nd. Each volunteer will need to register for a specific time slot, and he/she will be paired with a participant and will assist them in finding resources at the fair.

Mental Illness Awareness Week, October 5 - 11th 
  • NAMI on Campus Bakesale!
    • Date/Time: October 9th, 9a.m - 3p.m
    • Location: University Union, First Floor next to the BookStore
    • Proceeds will be divided 50/50 and allocated towards NAMI on Campus and the Out of the Darkness Walk!

      • Earn up to 2 active membership points for participating in this event! Baking and Tabling are each 2 active-membership points!

    • Agenda: Panelists will speak about cultural diversity and how it relates to services provided in the mental health setting. Panelists will draw upon their experiences as both clients and professionals in the field of mental health.
